About Us
John Bostwick, our General Manager, started out in 1998 as a Service Specialist for Ecolab. He was trained to provide quality service to restaurants including educating restaurant/hotel managers about sanitation and structural deficiencies to maintain a pest free environment. He provided services to commercial accounts for pest elimination, and completed the Purdue course in entomology.
While at Ecolab, John increased his customers to the #3 Largest Route in the Mid-Atlantic Region which obtained him numerous accolades of service awards and sales recognition. After working with Ecolab for 1 year, he left to work as a Sales Manager /Inspector for Dodson Bros. Pest Control. There he branched out into residential accounts, and trained in termite inspections and eradication services. After 6 months he left to be the Regional Accounts Manager of Virginia for EnTech. He expanded the business over 250% in just 18 months, taking on new accounts which required him to hire and train personnel.
John supervised all accounts for EnTech in Virginia and worked with them until the corporate office, in Maryland, closed its Virginia office and was bought out by Rent-O-Kil in February 2002. John then went to Coastal Pest Control to be the Office Manager for just 6 short months before deciding to start his own business, Tidewater Pest Control which was started in September 2002.
John has currently holds the following licenses in the State of Virginia:
- 7A (General Pest Control) License
- 7B (Wood Destroying Insects) License
- 7C (Fumigation) License
He has had many accounts that follow him because of his excellent service and attention to detail. He has become proficient in the elimination of pests in restaurants, hotels, warehouses, hospitals, retirement homes, apartment complexes, and residential properties. After looking over his work experience, he decided that starting his own business would be the best way to continue to provide outstanding, quality customer service and pest control to his loyal patrons.
